Kopernik Global Investors is a global equity investment management specialist focused on a fundamental, bottom-up, and value-oriented process. Our job is to appraise businesses and take advantage of market inefficiencies. We never knowingly overpay, as value is not a philosophy - it is a prerequisite. We highly value independent thought and prefer to do our own research and analysis, where we have high conviction and more faith in our own conclusions than in the mainstream consensus. Kopernik is 100% employee-owned. The firm was founded in July 2013 by Dave Iben, the Managing Member, Founder, and Chief Investment Officer. Kopernik was built on the same investment philosophy and time-tested investment process that Dave Iben has been successfully developing over his 42-year career. As of September 30, 2024, Kopernik has 44 employees and manages approximately $6 billion (managed and advisory-only) across global and international equity strategies.
